BeatTheBid is an estimating tool for contractors. A contractor describes a job; the tool drafts an estimate at the contractor's own prices; the contractor reviews it and chooses whether to send it. Estimates are the contractor's, not ours — we don't guarantee any price, and every estimate says whether it is a ballpark or a firm number.
Text messages. We send texts only to people who asked for them: a customer who requested an estimate from a contractor (by phone, in person, or through the contractor's job-request page) receives a link to that estimate; a contractor who tries the tool by phone and says yes receives the estimate they built. One to three messages per request, nothing recurring, no marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of all further texts from us; reply HELP for help. Accounts and cost. A contractor's BeatTheBid lives at their own subdomain. Estimates are free and unlimited, with no monthly fee. If a customer pays a deposit or invoice through an estimate page, we keep 1% on top of the payment processor's fee.
Liability. The service is provided as is. We are not a party to any contract between a contractor and their customer.
